The Reichstein Foundation works for social justice and environmental sustainability by investing strategically in inspirational people, projects and organisations. It is a catalyst for more effective philanthropy in Australia.
The Reichstein Foundation practices social change philanthropy and grows this approach to philanthropy through partnerships and funding collaborations with individuals, donors and trusts and foundations. In essence, it supports change not charity. Its stated mission is to stimulate and invest in policy change and inspirational organisations and people to achieve a more equitable distribution of wealth and power and a healthy and sustainable environment.
The Foundation grants in the areas of:
Reducing Inequality
Social justice and the law
Environmental sustainability.
For 2014/2015 financial year, the Reichstein Foundation made grants principally through a mix of invitation and expressions of interest in its key priority areas including the employment rights of people with disability, gambling reform, prison reform and environmental sustainability. Its grants strategy will be reviewed again in 2015.
